Zip ties to be replaced with a weld on bracket...soon as I learn to weld. I just need some argon/Co2 and a new mask and I’ve going to give it a go.
Looks pretty good. It doesn’t look new, and its far from perfect, but aint no more rust on this hitch. The only problem now is that I just finished bolting it up and noticed the actual crossmember has rust. Nerts. coulda done that all at once.
pretty morning though, despite crazy high winds all night.

Looks tidy.
We’re getting your high winds (60mph gusts) and 7% relative humidity today.

Yeah.. winds were HOWLING all night here in Boulder too... A skier in Rocky Mtn Nat Park got blown off a cliff by 90 mph winds the other day.... jacked him up pretty bad.. and naturally 90 mph winds=no rescue chopper... took them most of the night to extract him.......

Sick!! You gonna post some footage here??
I’ve got a buddy that works as an air nurse on the rescue chopper out of Flagstaff Az, and he’s always posting SICK photos of the desert from the chopper...
I’m jelly!!

Cool... they gonna give you a ride in the hoist??

Probably, depends on the weather. 2 of my co-workers have gone in the hoist previously, but I never have. I’ve been up in the aircraft a few times though.

Just my 2c, take it or leave it, but that wiring plug location may become problematic. If you back up a bit too far, the plug is right in line with where the trailer hitch will hit. I’ve never seen a factory install with the lights plug directly above the receiver.
Edit: For example...the bracket on the left is where the wiring plug is intended to mount on this one:
Same here:

That’d be rad!

if you look closely you can see this has already happened...but...it WILL get wrecked up if it put it below the hitch so this is an okay compromise.

Below the hitch....ahh off roading, didn’t think of that. Was thinking of on-road towing. Of course, my application was on a Toyota Sienna, soooo, off roading wasn’t a concern.
Carry on, just saw it and panicked a bit.
